Julius Oghie is a scholar-practitioner in Insurance and Risk Management with a strong track record in teaching and academic support across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Julius has over 18 years of professional and academic experience. He holds an MSc in Risk Management and Insurance, an MSc in Marketing, and a BSc in Insurance from the University of Lagos and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN).
His work sits at the intersection of theory, regulation, and practice, enabling learners to understand not just what risk frameworks are, but why they exist and how they are applied in real organisations. His research and professional interests focus on risk regulation, capital adequacy, insurance governance, and product development in Life and General Insurance.
He teaches Risk Regulation and Capital Adequacy, Risk Management, and General Insurance, and contributes to policy-oriented insurance discourse. He specialises in areas critical to modern financial and insurance systems, including risk regulation, capital adequacy, enterprise risk management, and general insurance operations. His teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, critical thinking, and relevance to regulation to help learners move beyond rote learning to genuine understanding.
